ShePlays is a place to celebrate women in sport, in a safe, fun environment.

ShePlays is free to play and welcoming to fans of all backgrounds. Whether you’re a long-time supporter or haven’t even chosen a team yet, you’re welcome at ShePlays!

We don’t care if you can’t name five players, if you don’t know who won last year’s championship, or if you can’t name every team.

We don’t care if you don’t know what allocation money is and you’re not too worried about figuring it out.

We don’t care if you have a closet full of jerseys or have never watched a game before.

We don’t care if you set your fantasy team at week one and never make an adjustment, or if you’re changing your lineup every round.

We don’t care if you don’t understand a team’s style of play.

We don’t care if you can’t explain why a team chooses to play a certain formation.

We don’t care if you don’t know soccer terminology.

If you want to be part of celebrating women in sport, you are welcome here.

If you have questions, we will do our best to answer them – and if we don’t know the answer, we’ll try to find someone who does.

ShePlays was created in 2016 to address gender inequality in sport by promoting women’s professional sporting leagues, increasing fan involvement, and encouraging grass-roots participation.

While following the Australian W-League in 2016 our founders realized there was no publicly available fantasy competition, and resolved to make their own. They quickly realized that there were almost no fantasy leagues for women’s professional sporting leagues in Australia, or anywhere else in the world. Statistics and information on anyone but the most elite, international players were difficult (and sometimes impossible) to find.

We’re here to change that.

Fantasy sport is just one of the ways that sports fans engage with their favorite leagues, and just one of the ways that talented athletes gain more exposure. We believe that running a free fantasy competition is a fun way that we can help to increase interest in women’s leagues and promote the talents and successes of the players.

Our aim is to provide a website and build a community that does just that.

ShePlays is committed to being a positive, welcoming, and supportive platform for sports fans from all over the world. We will keep our fantasy league free to play so that there is no barrier for people to participate.

We learn something new every season. Come learn with us.
