We’ve made it through week one of the 2025 NWSL season! Last minute injury news, signings, and lots of 1-1 draws later, here’s what you should know going into Round 2.
Point Updates
Round 1 of fantasy was our first real look at how the change in how we receive our data will impact us behind the scenes, as we’d talked about in our launch article. There was a lot of double-checking and triple-checking, but we made it through!
Our goal for Round 2 is to have points flowing once we get the data post-game. If everything goes smoothly, at some point post-match the points for each fixture will become available, and your mini-leagues as well as the leaderboard and player database will be updated once all of the points have been calculated and the round is over.
Speaking of the launch article…
The Player Profile Error Is No More!
The error that caused some player pages to call the incorrect URL is fixed!!!!! As we said in February, we’ve put hours upon hours into troubleshooting and trying to fix this issue, and it was much more complicated than it appeared, but huge huge huge shout out to one of our founders who finally figured it out.
We are working on updating and creating bios for each of the over 350 players available in the NWSL this season. As you can imagine, this is a massive task and while we still do not have a timeline for updates going live, the pages are still viewable and you can see player’s week-by-week and historical stats on their profile pages! These may be missing for the players who changed their names over the offseason, but should be connected in one of the next couple of updates, never fear!
Players Who Have Been Flagged in the Team Selector
Two players have announced that they are taking some time away from the game. Because we don’t have a timeline on return, we have not made these players unavailable, but they have been flagged to indicate we do not anticipate they will play in the next round (or the next few rounds, for these two).
Sydney Leroux
Bethany Balcer
Racing Louisville had seemingly removed the SEI tag from Elli Pikkujämsä in their final roster announcement, but she was back on the injury report with the SEI designation when availability came out for Round 1. We’ve flagged her for Round 2 and will keep an ear out for any updates.
Ángela Barón was unavailable for Racing as well, as we had suspected following a knee injury sustained in the SheBelieves Cup. We don’t know the extent of the injury.
Lynn Biyendolo was notably not available in Round 1 and we’re unclear on how long she will be out.
Disciplinary Report Updates
Mandy Freeman received a red card in Gotham’s match against Seattle and will miss Round 2.
Ludmila and Bruninha have served their suspensions in Round 1 and will be back with their respective teams in Round 2.
Players Now Available for Selection
Hannah Bebar, Midfielder, Bay FC
Late news emerged that Bebar is going to be with Bay for the first three weeks of the season before going back to Duke, and then will return again for the remainder of the season. Thus, Bebar is now available for selection and will be flagged after Round 3! Despite being available, she did not make her NWSL debut in Round 1.

Players Who Are Not Available Yet (as of the start of Round 1)
Why are the Round 2 numbers in the leaderboard for NWSL not the same as individual scores as seen on “My NWSL Team?”
Great question! When Round 2 updates ran, the data hadn’t been received yet for one of the Sunday matches. Once that data was accounted for, we re-ran Round 2 to include those scores, so everything should be updated now!
