As we approach the 2026 season, expansion team Boston Legacy FC has begun assembling their roster. Here, we’ll be tracking all of the signings, contract lengths, and where players are going on loan as they await Boston’s NWSL debut.
July 2
Boston’s first signing is Annie Karich. The midfielder’s contract runs through 2027 with an option for 2028. Karich is on loan to Club América in Liga MX Femenil through the end of 2025.
July 10
Mali international Aïssata Traoré joins Boston on a three-year contract, running through 2028. Traoré will remain on loan with her current club, FC Fleury 91. Per Boston’s announcement, “the NWSL has initiated the recall clause on Traoré’s loan deal to have her join the Legacy for the 2026 preseason.”
July 17
Boston Legacy FC signs defenders Emerson Elgin through 2027 and Laurel Ansbrow through 2027 with a team option for 2028.
Elgin is on loan to the Tampa Bay Sun and Ansbrow is on loan to Ft. Lauderdale United until the end of the year, both teams play in the USL Super League.
July 31
Spanish midfielder Alba Caño has signed on with Boston through the end of 2027 with a team-held option for 2028. Caño is on loan to FC Barcelona through the end of the year.
August 11
Midfielder Aleigh Gambone has signed through the end of 2027. Gambone will join FC Nürnberg Frauen on loan until the end of the year.
August 21
Midfielder Barbara Olivieri joins Boston through the end of 2029. Olivieri was acquired from the Houston Dash for $50,000 in 2025 intra-league transfer funds, $50,000 in 2026 intra-league transfer funds, $35,000 in conditional intra-league transfer funds, and $30,000 in conditional expansion allocation money. She will go on loan to Club Tigres UANL through the end of 2025.
October 1
Forward Chloe Ricketts has signed a pre-contract agreement with Boston from the Washington Spirit. Ricketts will spend the remainder of the season with the Houston Dash to play out the remainder of her current contract, prior to officially joining Boston in January. She’s on contract through 2028 with a mutual option for 2029.
October 3
Brazilian forward Amanda Gutierres signs a pre-transfer agreement with Boston from Palmieras in exchange for an agreed upon transfer fee. Gutierres will arrive in January upon the opening of the 2026 transfer window and is contracted until December 2029.
