The Paris Olympic Games will feature a 12-team women’s football tournament, with three groups of four teams. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage, along with the two best third-place teams on points earned from group play.
Who is in Group C at the Paris Olympics?
Group C consists of two World Cup champions, current title holders Spain and 2011 champions Japan. They are joined by Africa’s most successful team, Nigeria (11 African Cup of Nations), and South America’s most successful team, Brazil (8 Copa Americas).
Marked as perhaps the toughest group in the tournament, one or two of these champion sides will miss out on the knock-out stages.
