The Orlando Pride kicked off the off-season by acquiring roster protection from both Bay FC and Utah Royals FC for the 2024 NWSL Expansion Draft.

The Pride announced on November 13 that they had traded their natural first-round pick in the 2024 NWSL Draft (No. 8 overall) to Bay FC in exchange for $50,000 in Allocation Money and protection from Bay FC in 2024 NWSL Expansion Draft.

On November 15, the Pride traded Mikayla Cluff and No. 26 Pick in 2024 NWSL Draft to the Utah Royals for $90,000 in Allocation Money and protection from Utah in 2024 NWSL Expansion Draft.

On November 20, the Pride announced updates regarding the status of all players on the roster.

Here are the cliff notes:

  • 22 players are under contract for 2024
  • The team and defender Brianna Martinez mutually exercised her contract option to stay with the club through 2024
  • Defender Tori Hansen is on loan with Melbourne Victory in the Australian A-League
  • Goalkeeper Kaylie Collins is on loan with Western Sydney in the Australian A-League
  • The 2024 option on Thais Reiss’s contract was not exercised
  • Goalkeeper McKinley Crone and defender Caitlin Cosme are out of contract and have been waived
  • Defender Kylie Strom is an unrestricted free agent
  • Midfielder Jordyn Listro is a restricted free agent

According to the Contract Status list provided by the Pride, the team has seven players under contract through 2025, and several with options for 2025. The club states that they are “in discussions with select players regarding a return for the 2024 season, as well as numerous free agents across the league.”

December, 2023

The Pride kicked off December by announcing the signing of new goalkeeper Sofia Manner on transfer from FC Honka of the Kansallinen Liiga. The decorated Finnish goalkeeper is signed to a two-year contract, keeping her with the team through 2025 with an option for 2026.

Defender Emily Madril signed a new three-year contract with the Pride, announced December 5. Madril is now signed through 2026, having previously been signed through 2025.

Defender Kylie Strom re-signs with Orlando as a free agent on a three-year contract that will see her sporting purple through 2026. This brings Orlando’s roster to 24 players as of November 7, 2023.

While most teams were busy announcing trades for expansion draft protection on December 12, Orlando announced a trade with Utah. This trade sends goalkeeper Carly Nelson and $65,000 in allocation money to Utah, gaining Orlando another 2024 international roster spot.

On December 13, Orlando announced the signing of restricted free agent Angelina, who has spent the past three seasons with OL Reign. The midfielder becomes the fourth Brazilian international on the roster, joining forwards Marta and Adriana, and defender Rafaelle. Angelina is on a three-year contract with the Pride, and the team is teasing with her arrival announcement that another Brazilian may be on the way.

On December 14, the Orlando Pride announced the signing of midfielder Luana Bertolucci Paixão, more commonly known as Luana. Luana’s contract runs through the 2025 season, with a mutual option for 2026. With this announcement, Orlando now has five Brazilian internationals on their roster.

As of December 14, Orlando has a roster of 25 players.

On December 20, Orlando announced that midfielder Haley McCutcheon had signed a new three-year contract.

January, 2024

On January 2, Orlando Pride announced the signing of Swedish midfielder Evelina Duljan through the end of the 2024 season. The 20-year-old Swedish/Nigerian dual national comes to Orlando by way of Juventus.

This brings their roster count to 26.

In a trade with the Kansas City Current on January 11, the Pride acquired Morgan Gautrat and $50,000 in allocation money, sending an international roster spot to KC.

On January 16, it was announced that the team and midfielder Erika Tymrak have mutually terminated her contract.

NWSL Draft

On January 12, the Orlando Pride made four picks in the 2024 NWSL Draft.

  • No. 50, forward Alex Kerr, Texas Tech University
