In other words, Gotham sent two draft picks to Racing, who sent $130,000 in Allocation Money to Bay FC. Gotham also sent Ellie Jean to Bay FC, and received protection from Bay FC in the 2024 NWSL Expansion Draft.

Racing receives two draft picks in exchange for allocation money, Bay FC receives a player and allocation money in exchange for expansion draft protection, and Gotham receives expansion draft protection in exchange for a player and two draft picks. In this trade, Racing is used to exchange assets, turning draft picks into allocation money.
