Top of the league Arsenal will play at home against West Ham in the Sunday evening late kick off at The LV bet stadium. With the game being shown on Sky sports football. 

Arsenal are finally coming to the back end of a busy schedule that has seen them play five games in three weeks. Their last game was a 3-1 win against FC Zurich in the Uefa Women’s Champions league, goals scored by Jordan Nobbs and a brace by Lina Hurtig, Serina Piubel scoring for FC Zurich. Their last league game however was a 2-0 win against Liverpool (goal which also saw Arsenal match their own and Manchester City consecutive win record of 12 which means a win on Sunday would see them break their own record. 

West ham currently sit 5th in the Barclays Women’s Super league. Winning three of their five league games played. Their last league game was a home 3-2 win against Reading. Goals in that game were scored by Dagný Brynjarsdóttir and a brace by Viviane Asseyi. Reading goals were scored by Charlie Wellings and a penalty scored by Sanne Troelsgaard Nielsen. 

Team news

Arsenal will be without centre backs Leah Williamson (ankle) , Rafaelle Souza (ankle) and Teyah Goldie (ACL). Laura Wienroither wasn’t in the squad at all for Arsenal’s midweek Champions league game due to illness so could be a doubt. 

West Ham were without Emma Snerle for the Reading game after picking up a small injury in training, Paul Konchesky explained in her post match conference after the Reading game that she will mostly be available for the game against Arsenal. Maisy Barker and Grace Garrard are also unavailable.

The current top scorer in this fixture is Kim Little with five goals in seven fixtures. West ham’s Vivienne Asseyi scored her first league goals for West ham last weekend and will be looking to score more against a team that hasn’t conceded in the league since playing Manchester united at home last season. Another player Arsenal will need to look out for is their captain Dagný Brynjarsdóttir who currently has three  goals in five one of those being against Chelsea.
